Welcome to the new school year! I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year. I know that we are all going to experience a transition period and that Mrs.Miller will be greatly missed. Please be patient with me while I learn the routines that the students are used to and in changes that I make to our classroom. I recognize that change is hard and often a slow process, so I appreciate your understanding, encouragement, and support.
I would like to say a big "thank you" to all of the families that I have already had the opportunity to meet. You have eased my nerves about starting at a new school and I am so thankful for such an amazing group of people to be working with. I know that working together we will do awesome things this year and that your students will be supported in the best ways that they can be. In a means to save paper and to make communication a bit easier, this area of our classroom website will serve as our weekly newsletter. If you prefer a paper copy I can send one home with your child, please just let me know your preference. I also hope to share photos, funny moments, and achievements here with you all so that you are as connected as possible to the classroom. I am in the process of setting up a Volunteer Tub with tasks for those of you who would like to stop by and help out in the classroom. I would also love for you to come in and share a special skill with us or to teach us something new. We already have two families who have offered to come in to help with activities; the more the merrier! I have a tagline that I like to use, a whole lot, and it is You Were Made to be Awesome! I will be saying this a lot this year and you will probably see it in some form all over the place this school year. There are some amazing videos made by the Kid President (youTube!) that are truly inspiring and that have a wonderful message. If you have a moment you should check them out. Have a great day and thanks for reading! Mrs.Homan :)
