Well, I had fixed the Spelling City error which was that I had two accounts and I was editing one of them and you were seeing the other. However when I tried to solve that problem by asking Spelling City to delete the old and inaccurate account, they deleted the updated and new one. Gah! Technology. I will get it sorted out but for now please have your students continue practicing their spelling words. They can enter their weekly words manually and continue to practice on S.C while I sort that out.
We had our first conferences together this past week. I will be meeting with students regularly to check their progress on their work plans. Please remind your child that with the freedom of choice within our classroom comes the responsibility to do their work. Several of them panicked when they realized they had not been keeping up with their work and that it was due. The unfinished work will just bump over into next week but I would so appreciate a pep talk at home too. If you would like to come in and observe, volunteer, or be put to work please let me know or come on in and spend some time with us. Please keep in mind that while our students are working your role is to only offer help to a student when asked and to keep it to a minimum. We want to encourage the kids to do as much of the work on their own as possible. All of our students are working on a variety of works and are doing their very best to succeed; I am very proud of this group of kids! Have a great week! Important Dates: School photos- Thursday, September 18th Talk Like a Pirate Day (Dress like one too!)- Friday, September 19th Scholastic order due- September 30th
