Hello families!
This week the third graders will be doing their AMP testing each morning, Monday through Thursday. If they miss one of these testing days they will spend Friday morning making up whichever test they need to complete. Please make sure they are getting solid rest and a good breakfast before arriving at school. We are in need of a few more chaperones for the Pioneer School House field trip. Can you help us out by walking with us? Please let me know as soon as possible, check under the "more" tab for more information on the upcoming trips. As we are coming up on the end of the school year we are preparing for the Montessori Gala fundraiser. Our class is expected to put together a basket that will be auctioned off at the gala. We have not yet selected a theme but please know that it is coming down the pipe quickly. I will update you on what our basket theme is as soon as I know. Thank you! Mr.Chuck has begun teaching the kids how to use recorders in music. He is asking that all students supply their own recorder. They will be stored at school for the remainder of the lesson, please send one in as soon as you can. As always, please contact me with any questions or concerns. There will be no spelling tests this week due to AMP testing. Thank you for your support! Christine Homan

Thank you to those who returned the field trip slips today, if you still have them at home please send them in as soon as possible. Each student also needs $15 to attend two of the trips. If you are going to write a check please make it out to Denali Montessori. We are pretty solid on chaperones for all of our trips now, thank you for being so generous with your time! I know it is a sacrifice for you and without your help we would not be able to pull off these trips. We do still need chaperones for our Pioneer trip, if you're available please let me know. We will be walking downtown for this visit. Our class has been working really hard and are doing some great work each day. We have decided as a class to try going without work plans. The Montessori conference I went to over spring break gave me some really great ideas and we are slowly applying them to the classroom. The change in work plans being one of them. Welcome back! I hope that you had a marvelous break!
I had an excellent time in Philadelphia but I am glad to be back home and back into a normal routine. We have a lot going on these next few weeks, can you believe summer is just 8 or 9 weeks away?! Please check the Upcoming Field Trips tab under "more", we are in need of chaperones for all of our upcoming trips. I realize that we are going on one field trip a week, almost, until the end of the year and that this requires some parents to take time off of work. If you are able to attend, it is so appreciated! We have some really great trips coming up! The next one is April 24th and we will be taking a short train ride! Please let me know ASAP if you can attend any of our upcoming trips. Thank you, thank you! This week we are reviewing our classroom expectations and showing that we are responsible, self-managers. Our first day back together has gone very smoothly and I'm looking forward to what spring will bring us in the classroom! Tomorrow (Wednesday) is our field trip to First National Bank. We will be departing around 12:30, please send your child with warm gear for our walk downtown. You can email me at [email protected] with any questions or concerns at any time. Thank you! Christine Homan Have an excellent spring break! Don't forget, I will be out the first day back after break. Please remind your child of the expectations when we have a guest teacher. Also, that Wednesday we have our walking field trip to First National Bank!
Enjoy your time off! Mrs.Homan :) |
