Thank you for all of your support! Christine Homan Hello families,
This week we have two very exciting field trips! Tuesday, May 5th, we are going to the Botanical Gardens. We will be gone from 9:30 until 2:30. Please send a bag lunch with your child and have them dress appropriately for the weather. We will be outside ALL day, including lunch, and bathrooms are outdoor facilities as well. There will be lots of playing in dirt so please expect your child to return home dirty! Chaperones for this driving field trip are: John Mayfield, Mark Strauss, Julia, Liza, Peter Yien, Mindy Seay, Dione White Friday, May 8th, we are taking a school bus to the Alaska Native Heritage Center. We will be departing the school promptly at 9:15 and returning in the afternoon around 1:30/2pm. Students will need a bag lunch for this day as well, as do the adult chaperones. Chaperones for this field trip are: Thank you to everyone who has donated to our classroom basket. I know that we ask a lot of our families and I so appreciate your support! The Montessori Gala is Friday, May 8th! Make sure to buy your tickets to the Gala ahead of time! Please check your child's backpack for more information on the Gala, I have sent several flyers home on it. May 13th- The kids have been working very hard on their Africa research all year and our presentation has finally arrived! May 13th please join us for presentations by all students on their chosen country. Each student will share a visual (music, clothing, art, food) of their choice in small groups to our families. At the end of our presentation, we will be having a short 3rd grade celebration. Students will be sharing speeches written by themselves in regards to all of the wisdom they now have. :) Join us! 1:30-3pm! We are SO close to summer! Even so, please remind your child to stay focused and keep trucking at school. There is a lot of time to work and a lot of skills to practice before the summer break. Thank you, have a great week!
